Day 4: The day I realised I like classical music…..

So it is half way mark of the trip, and my word it has been NON-STOP! But that’s how I like it……as long as I can get a quick power nap in here and there.

We started the day off with a climb up the Sydney Harbour Bridge. We had the brilliant opportunity of going up alone rather than in a big group, and we had the instructor/guides of Ed, Leon and Dylan. All were VERY friendly and knew their stuff. Apart from I caught out Dylan a few times. So get reading boy. Only joking. It is a must do if you are in Sydney and the views are amazing. I was hoping to see a shark in the harbour from up there, but none were to be seen…AGAIN.

We then went for a bite to eat and drink at the Opera Bar, which is more of less below below the Sydney Opera House. Great views. But as a student I was shocked to pay $7.50 for a Redbull. As the energy levels were low, I just stumped up the cash and carried on.

We then met up with our tour guide for the Sydney Opera House, who’s name was Merran. She loved her job, which was good to see, and knew EVERY detail about the opera house. The inside and outside of the place is amazing. We found out about the history, and discovered it is NOT JUST OPERA that they have there. They have rock bands, comedians, pop stars, etc playing there. So don’t be fooled by the name. We were allowed access to sit and watch a rehearsal of one orchestra. I could have fallen asleep it was so soothing. Derv’s had a little acting session in one of the theatre room’s, rein-acting Romeo and Juliet. I stayed clear.

We then went for Thai food at the Bank Hotel. Tried an Oyster for the first time. It was covered in chilli’s so it wasn’t a pleasant experience. One I shall not be doing again. The food apart from that was very nice indeed. The beer went down well too.

We then went to Fox Studio’s and went to the comedy store to see some…you guessed it…comedians. Will Anderson was the headliner. I enjoyed all the acts. Will did a lot of Australian jokes, which flew over mine and Derv’s heads. Im not a good fake laugher, so I stayed quiet haha. We met him after and he was a REALLY nice guy. Said he would check this whole 7 days in Sydney thing, so he might leave a comment haha.

So that was Day 4. Plenty more to come….
